Easy Clean Bathroom Remodeling The Viking Craftsman has four suggestions which will make your bathroom easier to clean. 1. Clear the floor. Nothing is worse than cleaning around the base of your toilet. Dirt, dust and hair seem to accumulate there and at the base of your vanity as well. Consider having wall-mounted bathroom fixtures and a wall-mounted vanity. If you don’t want to change the placement of your toilet, you can have the fixture surrounded by a cabinet with straight sides 2. Get rid of grout lines. Grout lines between your bathroom tiles attract dirt, grime and mildew, and are difficult to clean. Eliminate this problem by selecting larger-sized tiles. Another option is to switch from tiles to a seamless glass, marble or stone surface. These materials are resistant to bacteria, mold many stains. 3. Remove the clutter. Keep as many objects as possible off your vanity surfaces. Store your hair dryer, cosmetics, toiletries and whatever else you use in cabinets, take them out as needed and return them when they’ve served their purpose. 4. Simplify your shower. Dirt, hair and soap scum love showers, especially the more difficult ones to clean, those which are part of a shower and bathtub combination. Incorporate a shower which is easier to clean as part of your bathroom redesign. One possibility is an open shower design, which eliminates the need for a shower door and associated frame. Another choice is to use a frameless shower door. Made from a solid piece of specially-coated glass, this door will help repel soap scum and water. If you switch to a handheld shower head, you can use the shower head to clean your shower.
